I gave up Bacon for Lent. Torture. I’ll be eyeing small animals in about two weeks, and think that there is probably enough barbecue sauce in the world to cover the taste of raccoon.
With weather warming up a bit, we are taking advantage of nice fruits and vegetables and also throwing some spicier foods your way. Since I gave up bacon (yes, I know I already mentioned that, but am craving sympathy) I need something with a kick to it to satisfy my pork cravings! We have a Spicy Crawfish Dip with a little cayenne bite and a new Hot Cheese plate served with Marinara & Ranch. If you haven’t ever tried Halloumi cheese, give it a shot – we’re crazy about it. Some new salads and dressings – Spinach-Strawberry with Strawberry Vinaigrette, Greek Salad with Kalamata Olives, Feta Cheese, and Tomatoes topped with Green Goddess dressing. We have some new soups, too: Clam Chowder, Spicy Tomato Bisque, and Butternut Squash Soup. And new pasta: Ravioli stuffed with Italian Sausage & Parmesan and served with Marinara. For dessert, we have Chocolate Mousse with Chantilly Cream, Bananas Foster with Ice Cream, and Carrot Cake with Cream Cheese Icing.
